Willie Goodson

Willie Jean Goodson, 73, of Haltom City, Texas entered into paradise with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 surrounded by her family. She put her trust in God’s will during her courageous battle with cancer. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:47). Her memorial service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Chancellor and Jones Family Funeral Home in Decatur, Texas. Willie was born August 30, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Lessie (Gunn) and Edger Willis Masters. She was a registered nurse for over forty years, serving over twenty years in hospice care devoting her life to others with her benevolent and compassionate spirit. Her crown of glory has innumerable bright jewels that are seen shining in the evening sky. Willie is survived by her son Craig Goodson and wife Michele; daughters Melanie Reese and husband Jeff and Dana Raburn and husband David; sister Frances Scharlott; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; niece and caregiver Vanessa Richards and husband Paul; and many other treasured family and friends. She was preceded in death by her children Tracy Gurkin, Chris Goodson, and James Goodson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
