"Willie" Wooten, 80, of Joshua, Texas, will be Saturday, May 1, at 5:00 PM  at the Cope Cemetery Pavilion in Rendon, Texas, followed by inurnment of his ashes in Cope Cemetery, near his beloved Geneva. He passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 in Cleburne, Texas. His birth certificate name was William Edgar Wheeler which he had changed to our beloved William B. "Willie" Wooten.

He married Geneva (Gregory) Scott on Jan 23, 1976. She was his "good wife" until her passing in 2007. They had no children.

Willie completed the 8th grade and then enlisted in the US Army at the age of 15. He served for 9 months before being found out and immediately discharged. He later reenlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam.

He worked road and highway construction until loss of sight forced his retirement.

Willie is survived by his sisters Liz Arrendondo, Mary Ann Clark, and Ola Mae Pate, all of Fort Worth; his sister-in-law and caretaker for the last 10 years, Anita Chandler of Joshua. He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and friends to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his "good wife" Geneva, his mother, his brother Rodney Caldwell, and sister Patricia Schiffert.
