William Robert Caraway

Services for William Robert Caraway, 79, of Chico will be 5:00 pm, Monday, October 8, 2018 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by Rev. Phillip Weitner. Visitation will also be at Jones on Monday, at 4:00 pm, one hour prior to the service. He passed away Friday, October 5 at home.

Robert was born September 8, 1939 to Jay Warren and wife Mary Etta (Whatley) Caraway in Bridgeport. He was a retired truck driver for Magnum Trucking.

He was the type of man to never meet a stranger and made friends wherever he went. He enjoyed welding and he loved to read.

He leaves behind wife Betty Caraway of Chico; sons Bobby Caraway of Rotan, Texas, and Jay Caraway of Chico; daughters Sandra Stone of Poolville, Texas, Melinda Post of Tipton, Oklahoma, Frances Monroe of Fort Worth, Texas, and Donna Caraway of Chico; sisters Billie Ann Long, Bertie Jean Lewis, Dorothy Nell Pittsley, Alice May Bear, Rhonda Gess, Terrie Caraway, Peggy Wigger, and Sandra Caraway; brother Jay Allen Caraway; 24 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his father and wife, Jay and Dean Caraway, and mother and husband Mary Don Otto.
