Memorial services for William Rex Burris, 66, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
William Rex Burris was born on February 28, 1959, in Amarillo, Texas, to George and Betty (Vaughn) Burris, and passed away September 12, 2025.
William was a proud graduate of Bridgeport High School, class of 1977. He went on to become a master of multiple trades. William was known for his remarkable ability to fix anything that came his way, showcasing his skills and determination.
On August 19, 1988, William married Monette (Whitsitt) Burris at Honey Hollow Ranch in Bridgeport, Texas. Their marriage lasted 37 years and 24 days, a testament to their love and commitment to one another.
He loved his family deeply and took great pride in being a wonderful dad and a fantastic papa.
Since 1999 William was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. His commitment to his church and his faith were important aspects of his life, guiding him in all of his endeavors.
William is preceded in death by his parents, George and Betty Burris and in-laws, Sonny and Bone Whitsitt of Bridgeport, Texas.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Monette Burris of Bridgeport, Texas; sons, Cody Burris (Lauren) of Corinth, Texas, Colton Burris (Andrea) of Eufaula, Oklahoma, and T.J. Burris of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania; sisters, Debbie Burris Dick and husband Doug of Kingsville, Texas, and Sheri Burris Hughes and husband Leslie of Decatur, Texas; and grandchildren, Carson Burris, Favour Burris, Tison Burris, Trevor Burris, Brayden Burris, Brooklyn Burris, Bentley Slawson, and Anistyn Slawson.
