A memorial service for Wesley Craig Samples, 54, of Runaway Bay, Texas will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by the family. Wesley passed away suddenly Thursday, January 24 in Decatur, Texas.
He was born to Clyde and Dorothy (Dade) Samples in Sumter, South Carolina on July 22, 1964.
Wesley had an Associates degree and worked in the electronics industry as a procurement manager for Elbit Systems of America.
He loved classic rock music of the 70's and 80's. This love of music was only exceeded by his love of spoiling grandson Dominik.
He was an automotive enthusiast who enjoyed tinkering on cars and watching car shows like "Gas Monkey".
Wesley loved watching his son Alex play baseball, and enjoyed baseball even when Alex wasn’t playing in the game.
He was the person who was there to help his neighbor and friends. He epitomized the type person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
Wesley is survived by his wife Sarah (Gonzales) Samples of Runaway Bay; daughter Katie Hernandez and husband Anthony of Paradise, Texas; son Alex Samples of Houston, Texas; grandson Dominik Hernandez of Paradise; mother Dorothy Samples of Runaway Bay; brother Carlton Samples of Runaway Bay; sister Tricia Cross and husband Fred of Cypress, Texas; aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Clyde "Pop" Samples.
