A memorial service for Vinessa Michelle Archer, 58, of Bridgeport, Texas will be 6:00 pm Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Vinessa passed away Friday, April 24 in Fort Worth, Texas after a battle with cancer.
She was born June 8, 1961 in Bridgeport to V.M. and Loretta (Owens) Hill. After graduation from BHS Vinessa received her Bachelors degree from Texas A&M University – Commerce. She retired from teaching after 21 years cumulatively, in Aubrey, Springtown, Decatur, and Alvord, Texas.
Before that she was selected to work on a federal task force in Washington, DC as a procurement and loan specialist.
Always a country girl at heart, Vinessa was a big animal lover. In her younger days she loved riding horses, and all through her life she had animals of all kinds around her.
She loved being outdoors, and was an avid gardener of both flowers and vegetables.
Vinessa was a huge fan of the water, particularly the ocean, and spent every vacation possible at the beach.
She was a teacher by trade, and by nature. She was also a coach and coached all three of her daughters.
Vinessa is survived by her husband of 34 years Dwight Archer of Bridgeport; daughters Dallas Taylor and husband Matthew of Bridgeport, Carlie Finley and husband Ben of Blum, Texas, and Lorenda Archer and fiancé Tyler Busby of White Settlement, Texas; mother Loretta Hill of Bridgeport; brother Randy Hill of Natalia, Texas; uncle James D. Owens, Jr. of Wills Point, Texas; grandchildren Mayson Taylor, Micah Taylor, and Mattie Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her father ‘Coach’ V.M. Hill.
