Memorial Services for Trula Verner, 74, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Hudson and Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Brother Gary Demmitt will be officiating.

Trula Joette Verner was born on December 17, 1951, in Bridgeport, Texas to Jesse Williams and Ima Rose Coker. She passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, in Bridgeport at the age of 74.

Trula graduated from Paradise High School in 1969. She married Danny Nolan Verner on July 16, 1976, and worked as a correctional officer. Trula was a people person, she never met a stranger and enjoyed working with the public.

She was devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and trips to Oklahoma, these activities brought her much joy and peace.

Trula is preceded in death by her parents Ima Rose Coker and Jesse Williams; her husband Danny Nolan Verner; daughter, Melissa Fitzgerald; siblings, Alfred Wiliams, Dean Bouchillon, Vada Skiles, Vonciel Cash and Mary-Ruth Cash.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Anna Michelle Gregoire; brother Grady Williams; grandchildren, Brandon Johnson, Makenzie Torres, Ashley Marlow and spouse Keaton, Makayla Fitzgerald and Eric Gregoire; great grandchildren, Adalynn Marlow, Ezekiel Torres, Tate Davis and Boone Marlow, her best friend Teresa Womack, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
