Travis Deatherage

Funeral services for Travis Deatherage, 83, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, with burial to follow at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2025, at the funeral home. David Mosley will officiate.

Pallbearers will include Randy Flake, Tim Robinson, Gary Whitsitt, and Frankie Hobbs.

Travis Wayne Deatherage was born on July 6, 1942, in Bridgeport, Texas, to W.O. and Tressie (Hobbs) Deatherage, and peacefully passed away August 1, 2025, in Decatur, Texas.

Raised in Bridgeport, Texas, Travis graduated from Bridgeport High School. He went on to serve in the US Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Travis enjoyed shopping for bargains at Walmart, Dollar stores, and thrift shops. His eye for a good deal was unmatched, and he often shared stories about his finds with a smile. Besides shopping, Travis enjoyed gardening, finding peace in tending to plants.

Travis Deatherage will be remembered for his down-to-earth nature and the simple pleasures he found in life. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by parents, W.O. and Tressie Deatherage; grandmother, Clara Mae Hobbs; sisters, Betty Waldrep and Myrna Coffee; brothers, Donald and Truman Deatherage; and aunt, Winnie Mae Dunham.

Those left to cherish Travis’ memory are his daughters, Sheryl Robinson and husband Tim of Bridgeport, Texas, and Tricia Flake and husband Randy of Runaway Bay, Texas; grandchildren, Bryson Robinson of Bridgeport, Texas, Ryan Robinson of Runaway Bay, Texas, Keaton Robinson of Bridgeport, Texas, and Laci Nichols of Paradise, Texas; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Lester and wife Mildred of Paradise, Texas, and Robert Deatherage and wife of New Mexico; and a host of friends.
