Tommy Van Hoose

Graveside services for Tommy Van Hoose, 73, of Runaway Bay, Texas, will be held at 10 am Friday, June 30, 2023, at Westside Cemetery in Bridgeport. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday, June 29, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. 

Tommy Van Hoose, loving husband, father, and brother, passed away on June 25, in Decatur. He was born October 23, 1949, in Bridgeport, to James and Mary (Nabors) Van Hoose. Tommy loved camping and cooking which earned him a reputation as a great cook among family and friends; he loved nothing more than gathering around a campfire and sharing laughs over a delicious meal. Tommy was loved by all who knew him. His family will cherish their memories of Tommy's life and find comfort in knowing that he lived life on his terms, never wasting a moment within it. 

Tommy dedicated himself to providing for his family and cherishing every moment spent with them. He had an undying love for his wife, Kim, whom he leaves behind, along with their son, Jimmy Van Hoose and wife Kathy, and granddaughter April Van Hoose. Tommy is also survived by his brothers Bill Van Hoose, Jerry Van Hoose and wife Virginia, Travis Van Hoose and wife Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews. His love for his family endeared him to many, especially those closest to him.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jim, Dale, and Larry Van Hoose; and sisters Patsy, Jackie, Janie, and Sherry.
