Sherry King

Sherry Ellen (Martin) King, 62, of Bridgeport, Texas was called to Heaven on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at home surrounded by her family. She had battled multiple health issues. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 14, 2014, in the Chapel at Jones Family Funeral Home. Dr. Craig Erb will officiate. Sherry was born July 29, 1951 in Nocona, Texas to Helen (Womack) and Kenneth Ray Martin. She was a homemaker. Sherry was a strong spirited lady who was also mild and gentle; she shared a great love and compassion for those who surrounded her. She was vital to her family; she leaves them full of spirit, love and hope. Sherry is survived by those who loved her most; husband of 43 years, Carroll “Dale” King; their daughter Melissa McElhaney, her husband Blaine, their children, Colton Teter, Beau, Brody and Trinity McElhaney; her son Gregory “Greg” King and his girlfriend, Amy Zimmerman, their children, Michael and Cody King and Brody Zimmerman; her brothers, Leslie “Les” Martin and wife Charlene, and Anthony “Tony” Martin and wife Lisa; sister Carrie Haslacker and husband Steven; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sherry in preceded in death by her son Jeffrey King; parents, Helen (Womack) McAlvain and husband Harold “Mac” McAlvain; her father Kenneth “Cotton” Martin; and grandson, Gregory King, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family offers the option of contribution to charity of choice and asks all to please plan one more day with those you love - because that is what matters.
