A Funeral Mass for Sharon Weiland, 85, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, at St. John the Baptizer Catholic Church in Bridgeport, Texas. Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, one hour prior, at the church. Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport is handling arrangements.
Sharon Weiland passed away on April 24, 2024, in Bridgeport, Texas, with her family by her side. She was born October 10, 1938, to Henry and Ann (Folz) Wageman, and her early years were spent on the family farm in Defiance, Iowa. In 1957, she married John “Jack” Weiland. Together they went on to have three children Patty, Jeff, and Craig.
Always up for any adventure, Jack took them on; they relocated from Iowa to a ranch in Boonsville, Texas. She spent her days running the ranch and raising their three kids. When they retired, they moved to Springtown, Texas, where together they ran the Keizer Airport for 21 years, before relocating again to spend their golden years in Runaway Bay, Texas.
Sharon was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many people.
Those left to cherish Sharon’s memory are her son Craig Weiland and wife Jana of Llano, Texas; daughter Patty Short and husband Michael of Chico, Texas; sister Norma Gross and husband Jim of Manilla, Iowa; and daughter-in-law Malynda Weiland of Granbury, Texas; grandchildren Amy and Billy Story of Bridgeport, Texas, Stephanie Short of Bridgeport Texas, John Weiland of Granbury, Texas, Tamara and Crystale Cabe of Granbury, Texas, Cody Weiland of Austin, Texas, Kyle and Kim Weiland of McCoy, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Ann Wagemen; husband of 65 years, Jack Weiland; and son Jeff Weiland.
