Ronnie Holt

Funeral services for Ronnie Holt, 81, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, June 28, at Cates St. Church of Christ in Bridgeport, where he was a long-time member, with burial to follow at Wilson Prairie Cemetery in Bridgeport. Brother Scott Strother will officiate.

Pallbearers will include Tanner Marlett, Jamie Marlett, Trace Marlett, Bobby Waters, Justin Newsom, and Phil Wolf.

Ronnie Holt passed away peacefully, in Bridgeport, on June 26, 2023. He was born August 13, 1941, in Decatur, Texas, to Harold and Inez (Hudson) Holt who instilled in him the values of hard work and dedication, which he carried throughout his life. Ronnie married Virginia Ann Hunn February 22, 1964, in Newark, Texas, and was happily married for 59 years.
Ronnie spent many years working in the oilfield industry and retired with great pride after a successful career. His devotion to his career and strong work ethic were unwavering and noteworthy, earning him the respect of his peers and colleagues alike.
Aside from his professional accomplishments, Ronnie was an avid gardener and fisherman. He often found solace among nature's gardens and in its waters. These activities allowed him to find a sense of peace that he would carry with him throughout his life. Ronnie’s legacy will undoubtedly live on through the memories shared by all those who knew him well. His unwavering dedication to hard work, love for nature and passion for family were the hallmarks of a life well-lived.
Ronnie's family was his greatest joy in life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Ann Hunn Holt, of Bridgeport, and their daughter, Sherri Ann Holt, of Fort Worth. Ronnie's dedicated love for them knew no bounds; he cherished every moment spent together with them.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents; brother Dannie Holt; father-in-law Harlow Hunn; and mother-in-law Bessie Hunn.
