Robert Dewayne Shepherd, Jr

Robert Dewayne Shepherd, Jr., 53, of Alvord, passed away on July 20, 2017 in Decatur.  Memorial service will be Friday, July 28, at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Alvord, Texas.   Jones Family Funeral Home-Decatur is handling the arrangements.   

He was born June 25, 1964 to Robert Shepherd, Sr. and Barbara Shepherd in Stockton, California.  Robert graduated from BHS high school in Bakersfield, California.   He was a manager at Mattress Depot where he worked for Rob and Liz Gaylord for the past year.  He thought of Mattress Depot employees like family. 

Robert is survived by his Grandma Haney, of Alvord; mother, Barbara Shepherd, of Alvord; sister, Monica Gahagan, of Alvord; nieces Michelle Carlon and husband Casey, of Bowie, Tiffany Gahagan, of Sunset, Ashley Gahagan, of Bakersfield, CA; numerous great nieces and great nephews; two pets  he called his boys, Chopper and Johnny Cash; and numerous loving family and friends.   

He was preceded in death by his Grandpa Haney; father, Robert Shepherd, Sr.; brothers, Ronnie Wayne Shepherd and Charlie Shepherd.
