Robert Boland

Robert James “Bob” Boland, 80, of Decatur, passed away on, Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Funeral services will be Friday, April 29, at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church in Decatur with burial to follow at Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive visitors on Thursday from 6-8 PM at Chancellor and Jones Family Funeral Home. Mr. Boland was owner and operator of his own business, Briar Energy Corp. He was a Member of Texas Alliance of Energy Producers. Mr. Boland was an active member of First United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School. Mr. Boland was born to Joseph Boland and Fern Cheeseman Boland on April 22, 1936 in Freeport, IL. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Charlotte Smith Boland; daughter, Jennifer Bethune and husband Jonathan; granddaughter, Haylee Bethune; brothers, Tony Boland, Barney Boland, Bill Boland, Mike Boland, Jack Boland, and Kenny Boland. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe Boland, Leo Boland, Danny Boland, and Brian Boland; sisters, Pat Pfab, Ann Doyle, and Mary Fangman.
