Richard Louis Boykins

Richard L. Boykins, 73, of Alvord passed away November 1, 2017, in Decatur.  Services will be 10:30 Monday at First Baptist Church Alvord with visitation one hour prior. 

Richard was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Alvord. He worked as a heavy equipment operator at TXI for 25 years. He was also a security guard with Wise Health System for seven years, as well as a volunteer.   He loved to play games and spend time with his family.

Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Boykins and great-grandson Lane Dawson.

Richard is survived by his wife of 47 years Nancy Boykins of Alvord; daughters, Peggy Wilson and husband Chester of Decatur, Carmen Whatley and husband Kelly Dawson of Poolville, Ammy Groves and husband Joshua of Alvord; grandsons, Nathen Dawson and wife Kharysa of Alvord, Stephen Whatley and girlfriend Taylor Gardner of Chico; great-granddaughter Elizabeth Dawson of Alvord; sister, Nancy Hoff and husband Howard of Tomahawk, WI, Brenda Burrow and husband John of Merrill, WI; brother, Kenneth Boykins of Tomahawk, Wisconsin; numerous nieces and nephews.
