Raymond Whitener, born on July 5, 1945, in Batesville, Arkansas, to Howard and Irene (Sample) Whitener, passed away on November 19, 2025, in Bridgeport, Texas. He was a dedicated independent owner/operator truck driver, a profession he embraced with pride and commitment throughout his life.

Beyond his career, Raymond had many interests that brought him joy. He had a passion for working on cars and enjoyed the thrill of drag racing. His love for vehicles wasn't just about speed; it was a hobby that allowed him to connect with others who shared his enthusiasm. Raymond also cherished the time spent with his family, creating lasting memories that they will always hold dear.

Raymond was known for his playful nature. He loved to play pranks and joke around, always bringing laughter into the lives of those around him. His sense of humor made every gathering a little brighter, and he was often the one who could turn a dull moment into something memorable. Additionally, he had a soft spot for animals, showing kindness and compassion to creatures big and small.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Irene Whitener and his brother, Charles Whitener.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Derick Whitener and wife Saundra of Runaway Bay, Texas; daughter, Miranda Mobley and husband Joshua of Bridgeport, Texas; brother, Carroll Whitener of Pleasant Plains, Arkansas; grandson, Wyatt Whitener of Runaway Bay, Texas; step-grandchildren, Joshua Mobley of Jacksboro, Texas, Alexis Alonso of Midland, Texas, Mark Mobley of Bridgeport, Texas, and Allison Mobley of Corsicana, Texas; and a host of friends.
