Preston McCauley, Sr.

Funeral services for Preston McCauley, Sr., 73, of Decatur, Texas, will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Grace Baptist Church in Decatur, with a burial to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the church.

Pallbearers will include Bradly Christiansen, James Stapleton, Mike Wall, Tye Worthington, James Bowlin, Colton Petty, Kenneth Earl McCauley, and honorary pallbearer James Hodges.

Preston McCauley, Sr., a beloved business owner, cherished member of the community, and member of Grace Baptist Church, passed away on July 5, 2023, in Decatur, Texas.
Born in Princeton, Texas, May 3, 1950, Preston was the son of Leroy and Margie Bowlin. From an early age, he demonstrated a strong work ethic and a true passion for providing for his family. These values would guide him throughout his life and lead to numerous achievements that he took great pride in.  Preston's dedication to hard work was evident in every endeavor he pursued. As a successful business owner, he not only provided for his family but also served as an inspiration to those around him.

Preston will forever be remembered as a devoted family man, compassionate friend, and astute businessman whose impact reached far beyond his immediate circle of loved ones. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled but also leaves behind memories that will provide comfort and solace to all who hold him dear.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Annette McCauley of Decatur; sons Preston McCauley, Jr. and wife Dandy of Decatur, and Bradley Christiansen of Decatur; brothers James Bowlin of Frisco and Doug Bowlin of Central Heights; sisters Joyce Elliot of Fort Worth, Linda Coe of Cleveland, and Brenda Miller of Joaquin; grandchildren Samuel Quinton McCauley of Decatur, Jacob McCauley of Cleburne, and Caleb McCauley of Alvarado; as well as five great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, grandfather Obey McCauley of Graham; sister Loyce Fowler of Center; daughter Jannetta McCauley of Decatur; and long-time friend and pastor Dr. Van Gardner; Preston leaves behind a legacy that will endure through the memories shared with those who loved him dearly.
