Nora "Chris" Lansford

Funeral services for Nora “Chris” Lansford, 86, of Runaway Bay, Texas, will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. Visitation will also be held at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service. Chris passed away, peacefully, on April 16, 2023, in Bridgeport, Texas.

Chris was born January 8, 1937, in Hillsboro, Texas, to L.R. and Anna Mae (Steadman) Clanton. She married Robert Allen Lansford on November 4, 1957, in Fort Carson, Colorado, and the two were happily married until his passing. Chris was a retired certified nurse’s aide who had served her community since 1974. She loved gardening, fishing, nature, and exploring new places with her husband. She also enjoyed crocheting and, most importantly, her family, whom she regarded as the center of her life. Chris was, above all else, a loving wife and mother who took great pride in caring for everyone in her home, whether family or not. She is described by her children as, “the best mother in the world.” Chris will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons Terry Lansford and wife Bitsy of Runaway Bay, Texas, and Mike Lansford and wife Darla of Oklahoma; brother Don Clanton and wife Rita of Waco, Texas; grandchildren Chealsie Lansford, Dustin Pinkerton and wife Kasey, Brittney Massingill and husband Jared, Mason Daggett and wife Allison, Brandal Allie and wife Hailey, Mikayla Knowles and fiancé Kyle Even, Mike Lansford and wife Stephanie, Crissy Jones and husband Phillip, and Ashely Gall and husband Bryan; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and family.

Chris is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Sandy Knowles; brothers Jim, Bill, and Dow Clanton; and sisters Madge Payne and Betty Mash.
