Nora Hooper

Nora Jean Hooper was welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior on July 3, 2026, at the age of 79. She was born on September 27, 1946, in San Diego, California, to the late John and Clara Kimmons.

Nora Jean lived a life filled with love, compassion, and devotion to those around her. She is survived by her loving family, including her fiancé, Steve Hatch; her daughter, April Bridges, and husband, Brian, of Austin, Texas; her son, Benjamin Martin, of Paradise, Texas; and her stepson, Eric Hooper, of Bridgeport, Texas. She also leaves behind two beautiful granddaughters whom she loved and cherished, Margaret Bridges and Ava Bridges.

She was preceded in death by Verey G. Martin III and Mark Hooper.

Nora Jean grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, and later moved to Wise County to raise her family. She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse.

She continued her education at Texas Woman’s University, furthering her career and earning her license as a Nurse Practitioner. Nora was a passionate and caring provider who worked alongside Dr. Tibbels for 20 years, serving the community she loved.

Nora Jean was artistic and creative, known for her painting, embroidery, and crafts. She enjoyed teaching others and sharing the joy of creating with those around her.

She also loved working in her yard, gardening, and spending time outdoors, especially soaking in the sunshine.

Nora Jean was strong in her faith and loved studying Scripture. She attended CrossRoads Church in Decatur, Texas.

Her motto was “Integrity,” and she lived it faithfully in every aspect of her life. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, fiancée, caregiver, friend, and example of compassion and grace.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at CrossRoads Church in Decatur, Texas, with details to be announced.
