Memorial Services for Myrna Hicks, 85, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. David Mosley will officiate.
Myrna Joy (McAllister) Hicks was born May 8, 1939, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Willis and Gladys (Roper) McAllister, and peacefully passed away on May 7, 2025, in Bridgeport, Texas, just one day shy of her 86th birthday.
Myrna was married to Elmer W. Hicks on September 4, 1956, in Gunnison, Colorado. The couple shared a beautiful life together, celebrating 68 years of marriage filled with love and companionship until her passing.
A member of the United Methodist Church in Bridgeport, Myrna was known for her kindness and commitment to her faith. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including reading, singing, acting, and being involved in theater. Myrna also had a passion for quilting, creating special quilts to be cherished by her loved ones.
Myrna will be remembered for her warm spirit and her love for her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Myrna is preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Gladys McAllister; brother, Fred McAllister; and sisters, Carolyn McAllister, Sue Scranton, and Gwen Parks.
Those left to cherish Myrna’s memory are her husband, Elmer W. Hicks; sons, Lance Hicks and wife Suzana, Bret Hicks and wife Connie, and Scott Hicks and wife Robin; daughter, Suzzi Bruggink and husband Butch; brothers, Donald McAllister and wife Carol, Bob McAllister and wife Jook, Bill McAllister and wife Lola, and Harold Garner and wife Patsy; sister, Leila Brashers and husband Norman; sister-in-law, Jerry McAllister; grandchildren, Chris, Ali, David, Brandi, Tim, Nathaniel, Jacob, Ashley, Kalin, and Haley; numerous great-grandchildren as well as great-great grandchildren; and a host of friends.
