Michael Vankirk

Michael L. Vankirk, 69, of Decatur, Texas, formerly of Graham, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in Fort Worth, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in the Chapel at Chancellor and Jones Family Funeral Home in Decatur. Pastor Todd Blair will officiate. Michael was born September 21, 1946 in Sutton, West Virginia to Myrtle Faye (McHenry) and Oley Patrick Vankirk. He was a truck driver and mechanic in the oil and gas industry. Michael served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He was an avid fisherman. Michael is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Luz Maria Lopez Vankirk; sons Richard Lowrance, Carlton Lowrance, Norman Vankirk, and Roberto Rodriguez; daughters Debbie Reynolds, Alicia Pagan, Patricia Gustke, Judy Lowrance, and Jackie Guin; sister Glenda Townsend; twenty-two grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson Matthew Carter.
