Funeral services for Michael Allen Hall, 45, of Decatur, Texas, will be at 10:00 am on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Rise Church in Decatur, Texas. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, in Decatur. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Michael passed away January 8, 2023, in Willis, Texas.

Michael Allen Hall was born February 25, 1977, to Eddie Hall and Deborah (King) Orr in San Francisco, California. He married the love of his life, Jennifer (Becker) Hall, May 20, 2000, in Alvord, Texas, where he had been a longtime resident. Michael worked in the oil and gas industry for 24 years.  He was employed as a technical trainer for Nabors Drilling in the U.S. which is where he mentored and coached many of Nabors’ employees. Prior to this, he previously held many different leadership roles, both field and office based. For about a quarter of a century, Michael worked both domestically and internationally, from the deserts of the Middle East, offshore and onshore Africa, to all the major basins in the U.S.

 

Michael was an oil and gas subject matter expert who was very well known and respected throughout the industry. He was accredited by the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and the International Well Control Forum (IWCF) as a well control instructor and assessor. He was also a founding and active member of Nabors’ Global Corporate Well Control Committee, and his opinions were highly sought after for all related matters or technical issues. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved him.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Jennifer Hall of Decatur, Texas; mother Deborah King-Orr of Lapeer, Michigan; sister Amanda Johnson of Stockbridge, Georgia; sons Bailey Becker, Christian and Zachary Hall of Decatur, Texas; daughters Gabrielle Becker and Zoey Hall of Decatur, Texas.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents Eddie and Grace Hall, and Harold and Eleanor King; and father Eddie Ransom Hall.
