Melvin Robinson Jr.

Funeral services for Melvin Robinson Jr., 88, of Chico, Texas will be 10:00 am on Friday, June 19 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas, officiated by Pastor Ernie Patterson. Burial will follow at Chico Cemetery in Chico. Pallbearers are David Riddles, Preston Fuller, Gary Massey, Steve Thornton, Justin Simmons, and Dickie Robinson. Melvin passed away Tuesday, June 16 in Bridgeport.

He was born on January 16, 1932 in Chico to Melvin and Ruth (Dickenson) Robinson. Melvin was a family man who has always taken care of others. If anyone had a problem, they knew to call Melvin. He really enjoyed fishing and taking the grandkids to the lake to go tubing. His favorite thing to do was play the harmonica and tell stories to his grandkids. No one can replace the man that was Melvin Robinson. He was one of a kind.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Cathy Robinson of Chico and his grandchildren Misty Robinson of Chico, Matt Robinson of Chico, Caitlin Robinson of Chico, and Aimee Martinez-Robinson of Chico.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and his three sons James, George, and Beau Robinson.
