Mary Louise Prevo

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Mary Louise Prevo, 82, of Bridgeport, Texas, during visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Mary Louise (Scarlett) Prevo was born November 9, 1943, in Albion, Nebraska, to Cecil and Genevieve (Walker) Scarlett. She passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, in Bridgeport, Texas.

Mary married John Prevo in Buffalo, New York, and together they shared 63 cherished years of marriage before his passing. For more than 20 years, she made her home in Granbury, Texas, before moving to Bridgeport after the loss of her beloved husband.

Mary had a creative spirit and a gift for making things beautiful. She was a talented seamstress, artist, and interior designer who found joy in gardening, organic living, homeopathic remedies, sewing, painting, design, and upholstery.

Above all, Mary was a devoted homemaker whose love for her family and faith guided her life. She was a member of the Restored Church of God and will be remembered for the care, creativity, and quiet devotion she brought to those around her.

Mary was welcomed into eternal rest by her beloved husband, John C. Prevo of Granbury, Texas; her daughter, Elizabeth Misner of Austin, Texas; her parents, Cecil Edward and Genevieve Scarlett of Albion, Nebraska; and her sister, Betty Morrison of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Those left to cherish Mary’s memory include her son, Jon Prevo (Joey Dykes Prevo) of Bridgeport, Texas; daughter, Tammy Prevo of Snohomish, Washington; brother, Thomas Scarlett of Alamosa, Colorado; sister, Sue Packard of Grand Island, Nebraska; grandchildren, Erica Morgan, Nathan Jennings, Nena Dukes, Ashley Misner Saylor, Dorian Prin, and Trey Misner Tempest; four great-grandchildren; and many friends and extended family whose lives were touched by her love.
