Mary A. Mason

A celebration of life for Mary A. Mason, 86, of Watauga, Texas, will be held at 11 AM Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Chisholm Trail Church in Rhome. A visitation will be held at 10 AM, one hour prior to the service, at the church. Mary peacefully went home to be with her Heavenly Father on September 7, 2023.

Pallbearers include Joe Mason, Jeff Mason, L.J. Mason, Mason Bentley, Landon Martin, and Justin Fields; Honorary Pallbearers will include Daniel Owens, Aaron Bentley, Blake Shook, Dustin Austin, Josh Barnes, Jordan Reed, and Chris Casteel.

 

Mary was born on July 14, 1937, to William and Mary Elizabeth (Taylor) Singleton in Old Glory, Texas. She was a member of the Eastern Star Crescent Chapter 820 and Chisholm Trail Church. Mary had a remarkable 55-year career as a tax consultant. Her expertise and professionalism earned her the trust and admiration of countless individuals and businesses.

Outside of work, Mary found joy in various hobbies and interests. She had a passion for cooking, painting, and traveling. However, above all else, she cherished spending time with family. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mary is survived by her sons, Jerry and wife Crystal of Runaway Bay, William of Springtown, James and wife Dena of Rhome; daughter Janet and husband Steve of Rockwall, son Kenneth MacGregor of Enid, Oklahoma; grandchildren Candice and husband Aaron, Amanda and husband Blake, Brittany and husband Daniel, Richelle and husband Dustin, Chelsea and husband Josh, Justin, Joe, Jeff, Sarah, Marlee, Sydney and husband Chris, Lindsey and husband Jordan, Randi, and Ashley. Great-grandchildren, Joe, Mason, Landon, Mackenzie, Brielle, Isabelle, James, Emma, Preston, Beckett, Blakley, Brinley, Naomi, Charlotte, Ella Mae, and Oliver; and numerous nieces and nephews, family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 64 years, Gerald Hal Mason; and great-grandson Daniel Barnes.
