A graveside service for Lorene Dees, 97, of Runaway Bay, Texas will be held at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at a later date. Lorene passed away Friday, October 23 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Lorene was born August 9, 1923 in Calvin, Oklahoma to Jesse C. and Florence Jane (Graham) Cyrus.

She married William R. Dees, Jr. in Calvin on June 7, 1941. The couple were married for 49 years, until his death in 1990.

Lorene had a childlike nature with a side of mischief just to add character. She also had a delightful sense of humor and lived life to the fullest. She loved to travel, and visit with friends and family, playing cards or whatever else came along.

She kept a beautifully decorated and immaculate home, even though she worked fulltime. She worked as the office manager in the healthcare profession until her retirement in 1988. After the death of her husband, she followed her daughter Jane and husband and moved to Runaway Bay.

Lorene leaves behind son Cyrus ‘Cy’ Dees and wife Pat of Joshua, Texas; daughter Jane Miranda and husband E.J. of Runaway Bay; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death her parents, husband, and two brothers.
