Funeral services for Linda Duke, 83, of Chico, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Zion Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Chico, with burial to follow at Pleasant Grove #3 in Chico. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, one hour prior to the service, at the church. Pastor Dave Tucker will officiate.
Bowema Linda (Bailey) Duke was born on October 16, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, to James and Estella (Whitsitt) Bailey, and went to be with our Lord on June 11, 2025, in Decatur, Texas.
Linda married the love of her life, Charles Jerry Duke, on June 11, 1976, in Oklahoma, and was happily married for 44 years until his passing.
Throughout her life, Linda embraced her role as a homemaker with dedication and love. She was very involved with her church, where she joyfully spread the word of God to those around her. Her faith was a guiding light in her life and touched the lives of many through her faith and kindness.
Linda had a deep love for nature, often spending her time working in her yard surrounded by flowers. Being outdoors brought her joy, and she found peace in the beauty of the world around her.
Her legacy of faith, love, and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jerry Duke, and sons, Charles Randal Duke, Donald Jerry Duke, and Randy Dean Douglas.
Those left to cherish Linda’s memory are her grandchildren, April Nicole Clark, Lindsey Jo Lion, and Shelby Fox; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
