Kathryn June (Leewright) Patterson, went to be with our Lord on May 8, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on June 23, 1936, to Leslie Porter and Mamie Elizabeth (Collier) Leewright, and married to Doyle Lee Patterson on October 9th, 1955; she was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. June graduated Valedictorian from New Lima High School where she had aspirations of becoming a writer. She went to work as a bookkeeper right out of high school. Later in life she would spend many hours working with her husband in their automotive business, and later with her son after he took over the business, spending over 30 yrs as the bookkeeper and parts-runner for Patterson’s Auto Service.
June had a love for reading and would challenge her grandchildren to see who could read the most books during the summer. She never lost her love for writing. She wrote stories about her everyday life growing up into adulthood. She self-published her stories in a book titled, “Country Girl”. June had deep faith and loved the Lord. She spent many years as a children’s Sunday School teacher. She wasn't shy about sharing her faith, especially desiring that all her family knew the Lord. She has led her children and grandchildren to the Lord, and countless others. June loved having summer sleepovers with her grandkids and letting them win a game of checkers or parcheesi and had a real sense of humor; she especially loved dressing up for Halloween and delightfully scaring her grandchildren. June leaves behind a legacy of love and deep spiritual faith that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Mamie Leewright; brothers, Perk, Mance, Paul, and Ed Leewright; sister, Carol Hickman; husband, Doyle Patterson; daughter, Evelyn Lawan Patterson Edwards; and grandson, William Grant Edwards.
Those left to cherish June's memory are her son, Rick Patterson and wife Debbie; daughters, Pamela Patterson, and Martha Patterson Carrillo and husband Michael; son-in-law Billy Edwards and wife Shelly; brothers, Ronnie and Kent Leewright; sister, Mae Rodgers; grandchildren, Marissa Patterson Stockton and husband James, Kasie Patterson Locke and husband Chris, Katie Patterson Woolsey and husband George, Ashleigh Spivey Tims and husband Tony, Josh Spivey and wife Mandy, Kathryn Spivey Bissell and husband Travis, Heidi Edwards Carter and husband Anthony, Courtney Carrillo Lucier and husband Jared, Jac Montgomery and husband Chad; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
