Joyce Dennis Dodson

Funeral services of Joyce Dennis Dodson, 91, of Euless, Texas, will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, with a burial to follow at Boonsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Greg Garcia will officiate.

Joyce Dodson was born July 8, 1932, in Bowie, Texas, to Noah Isaac and Irene (Garner) Dennis, and peacefully passed away November 30, 2023, in Euless, Texas surrounded by her family. She dedicated over 15 years of her life to working as a caregiver for Home Health Services. She selflessly cared for those in need, providing comfort and support during challenging times. Her kindness and empathy touched the lives of countless individuals and families throughout the years.
Beyond her career, Joyce created a meaningful impact through her volunteer work. She served both her church and community through an organization called 6 Stones, dedicating her time and energy to improving the lives of others. Her selflessness was truly inspiring, and she has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she served.

In addition to caring for others, Joyce enjoyed activities that brought people together. Playing games such as dominos, rummikub, 42, and card game of nines brought out her competitive spirit while creating lasting memories with friends and family.

Above all else though, family was at the center of Joyce's life. She treasured time spent with her loved ones, especially her great-grandchildren. Her love and affection were felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Those left to cherish Joyce’s memory are her sons Jerry Pulliam, Jody Pulliam, and Jess Allen Dodson II ; daughters Jill Pulliam Cardenas and Jina Dodson Nichols; brother Marvin Ronald Dennis; grandchildren; Brian, Andrea, Carrie, Bradley, Brittany, Joshua, Jonie, Justin, Tiffany, Noah, Christina, Leia, Kara, Carolyn, Johnathon, Aaron, Richard, Tonya, Todd, numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; husbands J.T. Pulliam Jr. and Jess Allen Dodson, Sr.; sons Jimmy and Johnny Pulliam; brother Lloyd E. Dennis; sisters-in-law Billie Jo and Barbara June (Gober) Dennis.
