Graveside services for Joyce Burk, 82, of Richland, Texas, will be held at 10 am Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Sweetwater Cemetery in Decatur. Chaplain David Bibel, of Corsicana, will officiate. Joyce went peacefully to her eternal resting place on May 30, in Corsicana.
Pallbearers will include Cashe Aguado, Charles Stewart, Christopher Martinez, Brandon Hutto, Dylan Hutto, and Jearmy Hutto; honorary pallbearers will include Case Aguado, Cayden Aguado, Ryan Orr, Stryker Westbrook, and Cordyn Westbrook.
Joyce was born December 5, 1940, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Obie Don and Clara (Bullard) Terrell. She married her soulmate, Jerry Burk, on January 22, 1977, and spent the next 46 years happily married until the time of his passing. Joyce was a homemaker that enjoyed sewing, crafting, cooking, owl collecting, watching sports, and loved spending time with her family. Her favorite role was that of a devoted grandmother who absolutely cherished her grandchildren. Joyce was the kids’ biggest supporter and fan in the stands. She was well known for her involvement with, and contributions to, numerous school, church, sports and community activities. She will be greatly missed and remembered with kindness and affection by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Sandon Miller and wife Stephanie, and William Wayne Westbrook; daughters Sheryl Davis, Rhonda Otto, and Bethany Owen and husband Trent; 16 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerry Burk; son Scott Miller; daughter Sabra Miller; and brother Don Terrell.
