Memorial Services for Johnny Clinton Wright, 85, of Sunset, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Crafton Baptist Church in Crafton, Texas. Tom Merritt will officiate.

Johnny Clinton Wright was born on September 9, 1940, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Charlie and Mary A. (Crouch) Wright, and peacefully passed away November 2, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Johnny was known for his hard work and dedication throughout his life. He built a career as an iron worker and later served as a security guard at Wise Regional Health System in Decatur, Texas, where he was appreciated for his commitment to keeping others safe.

Johnny proudly served in the Army, an experience that shaped his character and sense of duty. He was respected and appreciated for his dedication and service. Outside of his professional life, Johnny had a deep passion for farming. He loved the land and found joy in nurturing crops and caring for animals.

Johnny leaves behind a legacy of hard work and service that will be remembered by all who knew him. His spirit will continue to inspire those around him, and he will be missed dearly.

Johnny is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Wright; parents, Charlie and Mary Wright; brothers, Don Wright and Charlie Wright, Jr.; sisters, Dude, Edna, and Christine; and half-siblings, Willie, Hattie, Chester, Elsie, and Sug.

Those left to cherish Johnny’s memory are his daughters, Melissa Wright, Teresa Littlefield and husband Steve, and Lisa Schmitz and husband Clark; grandchildren, Niki Jorgensen and husband Nick, Michael Schmitz and wife Margaux, Hunter Sanchez and husband Jacob, Mason Cervantes, and Cole Cervantes and girlfriend Chris Broxson; four great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Rambo.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to any animal shelter of your choice or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
