John Bailey, 64, of Bridgeport passed away at his home Saturday, April 27, 2013. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 1 at 10 am at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by pastor Matt Edwards of Faith Community Church Paradise.
John was born June 5, 1948 in Jacksboro to Clyde and Margie (Reeves) Bailey. He was retired from many years of employment with Peterbilt in Denton. He served our country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War where, in addition to a Navy Unit Commendation and National Defense Service Medal he also received a Vietnam Service Medal with two stars, and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device.
He loved riding his motorcycle, touring Lake Bridgeport in his boat, and spending time with family on the weekends. He was always up for having a good time, and listening to some good music.
He is survived by his son Raymond Bailey and wife Teresa; sisters Barbara Mullins and husband Kelly, and Terry Warner and husband Norman; step brothers Roy and Travis Provence; grandchildren Casey and Kyle Riggs; aunt Jodie Reeves and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
