Jerry Ray Mitchum

Visitation for Jerry Mitchum, 72, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home.

Jerry Ray Mitchum, born August 31, 1952, in Amarillo, Texas, to Tommy and Mona (Stone) Mitchum, passed away on May 8, 2025, in Decatur, Texas. He married Vickie Read on June 15, 1973, in Paradise, Texas, and they shared 51 years of marriage.

Jerry had passions for antique cars, camping, and watching "Gunsmoke." Above all, he loved being a Poppa, showing dedication and love for his family with laughter and generosity. He will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and the light he brought to his loved ones.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Mona Mitchum; his grandparents, Hoyt and Kate Mitchum, and Billy Stone; brother, Mike Mitchum; and sister, Shirley Mitchum Fortenberry.

Those left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his wife, Vickie Mitchum; sons, Brad Mitchum and Robert Mitchum; brother, Jim Mitchum; grandchildren, Cason Mitchum, Read Mitchum, Kenna Mitchum, and Brysen Mitchum; great-grandchildren, Aria Mitchum, Dalan Mitchum, and Waylon Jones; and a host of friends.
