Jerry Biggerstaff

Family and friends will gather to honor the life of Jerry Biggerstaff, 85, of Chico, Texas, at a graveside service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Cundiff Cemetery in Chico. Dr. Bill Hughes will officiate.

Pallbearers will include Bryce Biggerstaff, Brandt Biggerstaff, Chris Romines, Marcus Casillas, Michael Casillas, and Jonathan Carr. Monty Casillas will be honored as honorary pallbearer. 

Jerry Cleveland Biggerstaff was born on July 16, 1941, in Vernon, Texas, to Wrex and Florita (Prater) Biggerstaff. He passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, in Denton, Texas, surrounded by the family who loved him dearly.

Jerry proudly answered the call to serve his country, dedicating four honorable years to the U.S. Army before receiving his honorable discharge. On May 16, 1983, he married Marilyn Green, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, commitment, and 43 cherished years of marriage. Jerry was blessed to have his wife Marilyn as a devoted caregiver the last several years of his life.

Jerry retired after many years of honest, hard work as a welder, a trade that reflected his steady hands, strong character, and dedication. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Chico, Texas, and a proud Mason, carrying the values of faith, fellowship, and service throughout his life.  

Some of  Jerry’s greatest joys were found with a fishing pole in hand and his beloved family close by, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Wrex and Florita Biggerstaff of Bowie, Texas; wife Ann Biggerstaff of Chico, Texas; his brother, Larry Biggerstaff of Chico, Texas; his granddaughter, Madison Waldrip of Bowie, Texas; and his grandson, Colby Price of Bowie, Texas.

Those left to cherish Jerry’s memory include his wife, Marilyn Biggerstaff; his sons, Jeff Biggerstaff and wife Pennie, Mark Biggerstaff and wife Loucrecia, Chad Biggerstaff, Jim Bartee and wife Kellie, and Joe Bartee; his daughters, Liz Price, Elaine Romines and husband Charles, Jamie Carr, and Julie Casillas and husband Marty; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many dear friends.
