Funeral services for Jean McClure, 89, of Decatur, Texas, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2026, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Burial will follow at Alvord Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home, one hour before the service.

Jean McClure, born Charlotte Jean Yale on December 20, 1936, in Alvord, Texas, peacefully passed away on May 14, 2026, in Decatur, Texas. She was the daughter of W.O. and Thelma (Mathews) Yale.

Jean married Jimmy Lee McClure on August 3, 1954, in Montague County. They shared many happy years together until Jimmy's passing in 2008. Jean worked diligently throughout her life. She retired as an Office Manager, having worked at Decatur Community Hospital. Additionally, she owned and managed the Montgomery Ward Sales Agency in Decatur from March 1969 to November 1978.

Jean and Jimmy were active members of the Holiday Rambler RV Club. Their passion for travel took them to many places, including Alaska, Hawaii, Panama, Columbia, Costa Rica, Canada, and Grand Cayman. One of their joys was taking their grandchildren on trips in their motorhome, creating cherished memories along the way.

Jean will be remembered fondly for her hard work, love of travel, and dedication to family. She left a quiet but lasting mark on those who knew her, and her memory will continue to live in the hearts of all who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee McClure; parents, W.O. and Thelma Yale; daughter, Penny Miller; sisters, Elizabeth McDaniel and June Lemond; and son-in-law, Gerald E. Miller.

Those left to cherish Jean’s memory are her son, James “Rusty” Russell McClure and wife Martha; daughter, Sandra L. Wright; brother, Marion Yale; grandchildren, Dustin Wright, Katie Hyde, Jade Miller, Seth Miller, Jessica Oliver, Justin Whatley, and Jamie Kinsey; as well as extended family members and many friends.
