Janice Anne Hamner

Visitation for Janice Hamner, 68, of Chico, Texas will be 5-7 pm Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Janice passed away Saturday, October 26 in Dallas, Texas.

Janice was born May 7, 1951 in Benavides, Texas in Duval County to Mannon Mac Zoller and wife Daphne Louise (Mayer).

While she was attending college at UT Arlington, she met Donald Hamner. The couple married December 19, 1973.

Janice was a scale master at Martin Marietta Materials in Bridgeport. She had an Associate degree in Science.

She was an avid reader. She also loved to cook, and the family all had their favorite dishes that she would make, such as chicken and rice, as well as meatloaf.

She was involved in community service, taking all kinds of goodies to the nursing homes in the area, and visiting and offering encouragement.

She leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Donald Hamner of Chico; daughter Deidra McGruder and husband Matt of Franklin, Missouri, Stella Jennings and husband Larry of Bridgeport; son John Hamner and wife Julie of Arizona; siblings Rochelle Bridges and husband James of Austin, Texas, Richard Zoller and wife Margaret of Granbury, Texas, Robert Zoller and wife Debbie of Jacksonville, Florida, and Michael Zoller of Cuero, Texas; grandchildren Tyler Jennings, Julia Hamner, Caleb Jennings, Rowdy Hamner, twins Cooper and Alexander McGruder, and Mason McGruder; and great-granddaughter Carter Hamner.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
