Jane Moyers Garcia

Jane Moyers Garcia, 86, of Bridgeport passed away Thursday in San Angelo, Texas.

Services for Jane will be 10:00am on Monday at the Cates Street Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the Thomas Cemetery. Brother Scott Strother will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7pm at the Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Pallbearers are Brandon Moyers, Cason Moyers, Jerred Jobe, MaClaine Jobe, Lynn Kerr, and Lance Kerr. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Deaton and Richard Keller.

Jane was born on November 15, 1930 in Bridgeport to Clyde and Dorothy (Whatley) Thompson, she was a lifelong resident and an outstanding member of the community. She was the former mayor of Lake Bridgeport, a Bridgeport School Board member and West Wise Water Board member as well.  Jane was married to James P.  Moyers from 1949 until his passing in 1988, together they owned and operated a dairy farm and the local Sale barn. She enjoyed gardening and being a housewife, but she loved traveling the most, anywhere, anytime , she was always ready to go.

Jane is survived by husband Juan Garcia with whom she shared the last 25 years of her life with; her sons Benny Moyers and wife Gayla, and Mike Moyers and wife Debbie; daughter Debra Moyers; stepsons Julio Ortaga and Darrell Lopez, and step daughter Lesia Marshall; sister Marjorie Kerr; grandchildren Brandon, Marley, and Cason Moyers, Amber Pierce, MaClain  and Jerred Jobe, Sandy Manoushagian, and Catie Gillespie, and sixteen great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her first husband James P. Moyers, son James E Moyers, daughter Sandra Kay Moyers, and sisters Joy Ince and Lorreta Keller.

 In lieu of flower donations can be made to the Christ Haven Childrens Home.
