Funeral services for Gilberto “Beto” Moncibaiz, 85, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2025, at The Rock Church in Bridgeport, with burial to follow at Eastside Cemetery in Bridgeport. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, one hour prior to the service, at the church. Brent Butler will officiate.
Pallbearers will include Adam Moncibaiz, Marcellus Johnson, Nino Johnson, Mathew Sargent, John Jennings, Kayden Moncibaiz, Cassandra Moncibaiz, Naomi Moncibaiz, and Jacob Moncibaiz.
Gilberto “Beto” Moncibaiz was born on March 20, 1940, in Cameron, Texas, to Felipe and Francisca (Sagovia) Moncibaiz, and peacefully passed away on July 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, in Bridgeport, Texas.
Beto was known for his vibrant personality and love of life. He enjoyed dancing, playing pool, and watching his favorite westerns. But most of all, he enjoyed the backyard cookouts spent with family and friends, laughing and enjoying everyone around him.
His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Beto is preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Francisca Moncibaiz; brothers, Sam Moncibaiz, Felix Moncibaiz, and Jose Angel Moncibaiz; sisters, Paula Hernandez, Dominga Landeros, Marcelina Gutierrez, and Basilisa Alice Ruiz.
Those left to cherish Beto’s memory are his sons, Gilbert Moncibaiz, Joe Moncibaiz, Gilbert Moncibaiz, Jr., Felipe Moncibaiz, and Adam Moncibaiz; daughters, Julie Johnson, Paula Butler, Minga Sales, and Mary Moncibaiz; sisters, Mary Jane Sifuentez, Mary Ann Benavides, and Lupe Castillo; 26 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
