Georgia Pearl Mount

Georgia Pearl Mount, 104, of Decatur, passed away on April 29, 2017.   Memorial service will be Friday, May 12, 2017, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Alvord with Rev. Bill Cleveland officiating.  Graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM, at Eastview Cemetery in Vernon, TX.  Jones Family Funeral Home -Decatur is handling the arrangements. 

Georgia was born to Robert Campbell Vannoy and Catherine Carter on January 22, 1913 in Belcherville, TX.  She married William Daryl "Doyle" Mount on June 6, 1936 in Sunset, TX She has been a resident of Wise County since 1995. Georgia was a member of First Baptist Church in Alvord and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was the executive secretary of the American Red Cross in Vernon for 20 years. Georgia was an avid fisherman of fish and men. She loved her family dearly. The family would like to thank Senior Care of Bridgeport Assisted Living and Senior Care of Decatur for their excellent care during this time. We want to thank Dr. Charles Kelley Tibbels and Susan Hansford-Orsburn for their care as well.  The family would  like to give a special thanks to Scott Mosley and staff at Jones Family Funeral Home in Decatur for their kindness and help during this difficult time.

Georgia is survived by daughter, Darlene Case & husband Bennie, of Decatur; grandsons, Dane Mount and wife, Melissa, Bobby Case and wife Jennifer, Bryan Case and wife Rachel; granddaughters, Julie Hallock and Michael, Cristi Schur and husband Chris; 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, David William Mount; and granddaughter, Cheyenne Case.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, and the MS Foundation.
