George James Eberhardt

No services are planned for George James Eberhardt, 68, of Runaway Bay. George James Eberhardt Jr. 68 of Runaway Bay passed away Wednesday December 7, 2016 in Decatur. A military burial will take place in Fort Hood, Texas at a later Date. He was born to George and Lois (Steinecke) Eberhardt on July 3, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois. He joined the U.S Army in 1978 retiring as a Master Sargent General after 25 years of service. He also received his B.A. in Psychology and worked as an LVN. George was a Member of the Sierra Club, the National Rifle Association and the American Civil Liberties Union. He married Victoria Petak in Hopkinsville, Kentucky in 1996. George is survived by his loving wife of twenty years; daughters Chandra and husband John of Lubbock and Chiara and husband Joseph of Irving and step-daughter Trina of Kentucky; and step-son Richard of Sherman; grandchildren Aubin and Augustine of Irving He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Warren Eberhardt of San Antonio
