Frantz Moore

Services for Frantz Ernest Moore, Jr., 91, of Decatur, Texas will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by Pastor Cheryl Scrivner. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Pallbearers will be Marshall Moore, Butch Moore, Daiden Coursey, Alex Coursey, Chet Coursey, David Tiroff, and Morgan Sorrell. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm, one hour prior to Saturday’s service, also at the funeral home. Frantz passed away Tuesday, February 22 in Denton, Texas.

He was born July 26, 1930 in Memphis, Tennessee to Frantz Ernest Moore, Sr., and wife Ovie Mae (Pierce) Moore. Frantz married Nelda Ruth Clary on October 7, 1959 in Marshall, Texas, and were married for 55 years, until her death on January 8, 2015.

The couple moved to Decatur in 1998, and later became members of Victory Family Church in Decatur, and The Living Savior Ministries in Justin, Texas.

Frantz was an Army veteran, a truck driver, and pilot.

He leaves behind daughter Tracy Grace Moore of Decatur; sons Frantz Butch Moore of Hawkins, Texas, and Marshall Moore of Cadillac, Michigan; granddaughters Shalon Coursey and husband Chet of Decatur, Lisa Rice, and Christy Bunk; and great-grandchildren Morgan, Daiden, Alex, Kaili, Rhylee, and five other great-grandchildren.

Frantz was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Nelda, and grandson Thomas Iven Sorrell, Jr.
