Memorial services for Eric Mancil, 75, of Alvord, Texas, will be held at 11 am Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Alvord. Visitation will be held 6-8 pm Friday, December 15, 2023, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Eric Mancil, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 23, 2023. He was born on January 10, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio, to George and Betty (Smith) Mancil. Eric embraced the simple life and found joy in its everyday blessings. He was a man of hard work and dedication, spending many years behind the wheel of his truck, in addition to his work as a barber. Through his commitment to these endeavors, Eric was able to touch numerous lives, in addition to sharing many stories along the way.
Outside of work and family life, Eric enjoyed working on the family land, traveling, but most importantly; Eric loved making his family happy. His selflessness knew no bounds as he went above and beyond to bring joy to the ones he loved.
Those left to cherish Eric’s memory are his beloved wife Debbie Mancil, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage; daughters Christina Phillips and husband Bryce, Melanie Lekkos, and Stephanie Darnall and husband Charles; sister Sylvia Mandeville; grandchildren Aspen, Olivia, Alexie, Nicholas, Carson and Kennedy and husband Harrison whom are expecting the first great-grandchild, a baby boy!
Eric is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Delaney Mancil; sister Theresa Campbell; and brother Stanley Mancil.
