Elsie Marie Kennedy

Services for Elsie Marie Kennedy, 89, of Chico, Texas will be 3:00 pm Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by Larry Fair. Burial will follow at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeff Kennedy, Brandon Kennedy, Randall Smith, and J.D. Wyatt. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm Sunday, one hour prior to the service. Marie passed away Wednesday, April 3 at home.

She was born December 30, 1929 in Grand Prairie, Texas to parents Bennie Ballard Farrens and Ethel May Price.

Marie was a seamstress for many years at Haggar Slacks in Bowie, Texas. In her spare time she loved working in the yard, growing flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed crocheting, and was quite a fisherman.

She married Clifton Eugene ‘Cub’ Kennedy and the couple settled in the Pleasant View area of Bridgeport where they raised son Jeff.

Marie is survived by son Jeff Kennedy, grandson Brandon Kennedy, sisters Louise Wyatt, and Lucille Boedecker, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Cub Kennedy; son Jackie Earl Kennedy; brothers George Farrens, Richard Lynn Farrens, and Bennie Ballard Farrens, Jr.; and sisters Fannie May Davis, Jewel Dean Harris, Lois Bernice Gilbreath, and Lola Fay Farrens.
