Eloisa was born on April 19, 1944, in Chirqui, Panamá to José Maria and Cenobia (Castillo) Beitia, and peacefully passed away November 26, 2023, in Decatur, Texas. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and above all else, a cherished domestic grandma. Eloisa will be remembered for her warm heart, nurturing spirit, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones.

Eloisa’s passion for her family knew no bounds, and she poured her heart and soul into creating a loving home for her family. Her dedication as a grandma was unmatched, and her grandkids held a special place in her heart. Eloisa cherished every moment spent with them, making memories that will be remembered for years to come.

One aspect of Eloisa's life that brought joy to her and those around her was her cooking. Her cooking skills were legendary, with her Panamanian sausage, pecan pie, pumpkin bread, and BBQ ribs. She took great pleasure in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones.

Eloisa was also taught from a young age to love and respect nature. She treasured the lessons taught to her by her parents and found comfort in raising chickens and caring for baby animals with care that warmed the hearts of those around her. Many will remember the countless hours she spent tending to her garden, sewing, and lovingly growing plants that brought beauty to her surroundings.

Eloisa was both an instigator of mischief and a guiding light to those seeking advice. She will forever be remembered as a shining example of love, grace, and kindness – a true inspiration to us all.

Those left to cherish Eloisa’s memory are her loving husband of 54 years Lawrence E. McGinnis; son Lawrence E. McGinnis, Jr. (Fella); daughter Shirley Vivian Richardson; brothers Florencio Beitia, Pablo Beitia, and Gumersindo Beitia; sisters Catalina Beitia, Maria B. Morin, Carmelita and Lucresia Beitia; grandchildren Michael Lawrence Richardson, Nicholas Raymond Richardson, Katherine Cenobia McGinnis, and Helen Sloan McGinnis.
