Memorial services for Elmer Hicks, 92, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the service. David Mosley will officiate.
Elmer W. Hicks was born on July 18, 1934, in Sargents, Colorado, to Harvey E. and Mary Ellen (Lynch) Hicks. After a long and meaningful life filled with love, hard work, and devotion to family, Elmer passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, in Bridgeport, Texas.
Elmer married the love of his life, Myrna J. Hicks, on September 4, 1956, in Gunnison, Colorado. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 68 devoted years of marriage before her passing last year. Elmer was a retired truck driver and mechanic, a proud U.S. Army veteran, and a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting, fishing, and reloading ammunition, and he will be remembered for his steady hands, strong work ethic, and deep love for those closest to him.
Welcoming him home in Heaven are his beloved wife, Myrna J. Hicks; his parents, Harvey E. and Mary Ellen Hicks; his brothers, Lloyd, Jimmy, and Edward; and his sisters, Dorothy, Bonnie, and Hazel.
Left to carry on his legacy and cherish a lifetime of precious memories are his sons, Lance Hicks and wife Suzana, Bret Hicks and wife Connie, and Scott Hicks and wife Robin; his daughter, Suzzi Bruggink and husband Butch; his brother, Jack Hicks; his grandchildren, Chris, Ali, David, Brandi, Tim, Nathaniel, Jacob, Ashley, Kalin, and Haley; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many dear friends and extended family members who were blessed to know and love him.
