Graveside services for Elizabeth Ann (Smeets) Reynolds will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg, Texas.
Elizabeth Ann (Smeets) Reynolds, 91, of Southlake/Fort Worth, Texas, passed away and entered Heaven on January 22, 2025. She was born in Joliet, Illinois on July 24, 1933. Liz graduated from Joliet Township High School in Joliet, Illinois. She married Noel Ray Reynolds on May 9, 1954. Ray had a career in the United States Air Force as a fighter pilot for 22 years, accruing the rank of lieutenant colonel. Liz was a strong loyal military wife that moved all over the world while raising their four children. Her love, kindness, patience, strength and unselfish qualities got the family through years of moves, and a time of war in Vietnam. After retirement from the Air Force, Ray and Liz bought a home in Fort Worth and started a commercial apple and peach orchard in Forestburg, Texas, “Miz Liz Orchard.” Liz loved “The Farm” and enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren learn about the orchard, how to garden and sell the produce. Today we still have honeybees that produce local honey from “Miz Liz Orchard.” The farm continues to be an active farm where family, extended family and many friends gather for lots of outdoor fun and fellowship.
Liz is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Noel Ray Reynolds; parents, Joseph and Margaretra Smeets; sister, Genevive and Joe Gutierrez; brother, Hank Smeets and wife Maria; in-laws, Dennis J. and Edna Verona Reynolds; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Mary Reynolds, Bill and Vina Reynolds, Dennis and Avalon Reynolds.
Liz is survived by her children, Larry and Debbie Reynolds, Doug Reynolds, Laura and Billy Glass and Steve Reynolds; her grandchildren, Billy Ray Glass, Matt and Ashley Glass, Josh and Heather Glass, Cody Reynolds and McKinsey Reynolds; and great-grandchildren Bella, Beau, and Bear Glass.
We want to give a special thanks to Larry and Debbie Reynolds for their devoted care during her last days. Pathway Hospice was a tremendous source of strength and help. We also want to thank the many caretakers who lovingly cared for mom over the last eight years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bill Glass Behind the Walls ministry at www.behindthewalls.com.
