Doris Jo Schwieger

Doris Jo Schwieger, 80, of Rhome, passed away April 6, 2018.  Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 11, at 11:00 AM at Newark Church of Christ with burial to follow at Aurora Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Jones Family Funeral Home in Decatur.

She was a longtime member of Rhome Assembly of God and was also a member of Renewal Fellowship in Boyd.  Doris was a prayer warrior.  In her spare time, she loved baking and cooking, and also collected dolls.  She was a sports advocate of her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.  Doris had worked as a food service manager in public education.

Doris is survived by sons, Freddy Schwieger & wife Laura, Keith Schwieger; daughters. Janice Boaldin & husband Mike, Kelli Baker & husband Jonathan; brothers Sonny "James" Bishop, Tommy Bishop; grandchildren, Jason, Jacalyn, Shelley, Nathan, Adam, Aaron, Brittany, Derek, Kalli Jo; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by husband, Frederick (Fred) Schwieger; parents, Joe Bishop and Helen L. Mills; sons, Timothy Schwieger, Bryan Schwieger; brothers, Troy Bishop, Joe Bishop, Charlie Bishop; and sister, Janice Griffin.
