Funeral services for Don “Big D” Stinnett, 78, of Runaway Bay, Texas, will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the funeral home. Jerald Stinnett will be officiating.

Pallbearers will include Craig Anderson, Chris Stinnett, Bodie Brassfield, Dusten Brassfield, Hayden Watson, and Brayden Garrett.

Don Calvin Stinnett, also known as Big D, was born to Junior and Otha Dee (McWhorter) Stinnett on June 10, 1947, in Yantis, Texas, and passed away in Bowie, Texas, on January 1, 2026. He lived a full life marked by hard work and determination.

After finishing high school, Don made a name for himself in the oilfield, working on drilling rigs. He also drove a cattle truck and spent 11 years at Deen Ranch in Bowie. His career took another turn when he left ranching to work for Brogan Dozer, where he pushed dozers. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Don purchased Brogan Dozer, rebranding it as Big D Dozer. After running the business for over 20 years, he sold it and took a brief retirement. Not one to sit idle for long, he soon formed 3D Construction, which he owned and operated for seven more years before retiring again.

Don will be remembered for his hardworking nature and the impact he made throughout his life.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Otha Dee Stinnett and sister, Lynn Plumley.

Those left to cherish Don’s memory are his loving wife of 26 years, Patsy Stinnett of Runaway Bay; sons, Jimmy Stinnett and wife Amanda, Jerald Stinnett and wife Melinda, Bucky Stinnett, and Curt Anderson and wife Christi; daughter, Kelli Stinnett; brothers, Jerry Clyde Stinnett and wife Kathy, Hershell Stinnett and wife Brenda, Keith Stinnett, and brother-in law, Curtis Plumley; sister, Reta Shurbet; grandchildren, Chris Stinnett, Tiffany Cooper and husband Jordan, Bradi Anderson and companion Brayden, Rachel Anderson, Craig Anderson, Bodie Brassfield and wife Kyla, Dusten Brassfield and wife Gabby, Magen Stinnett and husband Hayden, Cody Teague, Kyle Teague and Makayla Stinnett; great-grandchildren, Barrett Cooper, Braxton Brassfield, Brogan Brassfield, Brentlee Brassfield, Stetson Watson, Logan Garrett, Lillian Garrett, and Koah; and a host of extended family and friends.
