David Smith

Memorial services for David Smith, 82, of Paradise, Texas, will be held at a later date. David peacefully went to sleep on March 15, 2024, in Paradise, Texas, and now awaits the second coming of Jesus.

David was born on December 23, 1941, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, to Mary Harrington. He was adopted at the age of nine and raised by his loving parents, Thomas and Irma (Klugas) Smith. David worked for Ford Motor Company in Michigan in his younger years but drove 18-wheelers most of his life until retirement. He was a man of simple pleasures and genuine passions. Throughout his life, David found joy tinkering with classic cars, immersing himself in the excitement of football games, spending time with his family, and sharing his unwavering faith with others. His enthusiasm for spreading the word of God and sharing the teachings of Jesus inspired many around him. David’s faith was a guiding force in his life. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Those left to cherish David’s memory are his wife, Pauline Smith; sons Thomas Smith and wife Cindy, and Kevin Smith; daughters Michelle Walter and husband Terry, and Tracy Rapp; sisters Mary Gilson and Ruthie Belman and husband Scott; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Irma Smith; birth mother Mary Harrington; brothers Ric Smith, Michael, Ray, and Bobby; and great-grandson Harden Smith.
