Daniel “Danny” Eugene Abney was born on November 26, 1960, in Farmington, Missouri, to Frederick and Wanda (Niblack) Abney, and went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2025, in Ponder, Texas. A dedicated man, Danny spent his days as a truck driver, cherishing his work at Westfork. He was not just a hard worker but also a dedicated father, papa, uncle, and friend.

Danny's journey included proudly serving in the Air Force, where he obtained his GED before entering military service. He brought a wealth of joy and laughter to those around him, always ready to tell a joke or share a story, especially during family gatherings. He had a particular fondness for traveling, watching NASCAR, wrestling, and football, showing strong support for the San Francisco 49ers and the Chicago Bears, while often humorously expressing his dislike for the Dallas Cowboys, whom he affectionately referred to as the "Cowgirls." Danny also enjoyed dancing and was known for spinning excessively on the dance floor, even organizing the first-ever family dance-off.

Danny was a member of East Mound Church of Christ, where he married Frankie Abney on April 22, 2000, after eight years together, demonstrating his commitment to family and community.

He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Danny is preceded in death by his sons, Bill Stevens and Javonte Chaffin; father, Johnny Joe Brown; and sisters, Joyce Stearns and husband Terry and Lisa French and husband Floyd.

Those left to cherish Danny’s memory are his loving wife, Frankie Abney; daughters, Pamala Stevens-West and husband Lem, Brandi Delaware and husband Michael, and Madison Beverly and husband Steffin; mother, Wanda Brown; sisters, Tammy Clayton and husband Lloyd, Missy Martinez and husband Edward, and Stacey Williams and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Carson and Carli Stevens, Peyton and Serenity Beverly, Joline, Joana, and Joesph Delaware, and Jalizza Chaffin; as well as his dear friend, Thomas Mitchum, who was like a brother to him. Others left behind to cherish him are nieces, nephews, coworkers and friends.
